What do you do if you can Pause Front Squat 285kg?
That’s right, you get an easy 290kg Front Squat. No problem for Igor Lukanin.
By the way that’s the heaviest ATG Front Squat I posted so far.
Igor is shooting for something around 320kg by the end of the year.

Great site Gregor, really enjoy it. On the topic of front squats, back in 1984 before everyone could video and post lifts, Dean Lukin (Australia – 105kg+) did a comfortable 280kg x5 reps and often would do 250kg 5×5 in training. One of the most impressive front squats was by a Polish lifter I competed against in the early ’80s in the 82.5kg category – 290kg! Independently verified by two of his team mates.

Mind boggling numbers. By the way Robert, I am sure you encountered quite a lot of interesting things when you competed. Should you want to share an anecdote or two here, feel free to contact me 🙂
