While we’re waiting for the London Olympics to begin Frank Rothwell is busy uploading the 2000 Olympics weightlifting events.
Starting with the +105kg snatch.
The existing snatch world record was broken 3 times. First by Ashot Danielyan (207.5 kg, he later tested positive for steroids), Ronny Weller (210kg) and Hossein Rezazadeh (212.5kg).
7 people snatching 200kg or more. Top 5 super heavies opened with 250kg on the C&J.
Hope it doesn’t take another 12 years for this year’s Olympics to appear on YouTube.

Clean & Jerk
I still believe that if Chemerkin wouldn’t have sprinted up the stage he would have had enough power for the 272.5kg c&J.
Will add the other videos as they trickle in.

Has to be one of the best super heavyweight sessions ever held. Such quality lifts. My favourite lift is Weller’s 210kg snatch after missing 207.5kg.
GregorATG says
Yeah I would have liked to see Weller take the snatch.
Wonder what we would have seen had he not missed the 207.5kg
