If Z pulls of the overall win that will speak volumes about him and his career. Still on top after all these years. He’s been stepping up no matter what the sport has thrown at him. Impressive.
Thrand says
He will be 39 this year. He has survived the coming of the young giants, almost a decade younger and 5” taller, the fitting of the events to larger bodyframes for marketing purposes, and still bested them all in countless occasions.
He completely dominated this Arnold despite of their retarded points system which had him in need of making 4 reps in the dumbbell in order to win.
To top all this, a humble and good-mannered person. No loudness, no arrogance, no cockyness.
Undisputedly the best strongman of our time.
Adam says
Mmm I wouldn’t say undisputedly… He’s definitely in the conversation along with Bill Kazmaier, Mark Henry and Paul Anderson… That’s if we’re talking strongest person of all time… Strongman as a sport, he’s number 1 for sure
guest says
Paul Anderson? His outrageous “records” (WL excluded) are either “according to him” or “witnessed by [random person]”. Anderson should rightfully be credited with popularising all kinds of strength training in the USA, not with by their nature unverifiable hearsay numbers.
Btw. the same is true for nearly all old time heroes constantly quoted by American retirees in YT comments.
A fan of Hafthor says
Can anyone tell me the measurements of Hafthor Julius Björnsson whe he was 460 pounds/210 kg? or can anyone ask him?
Would be very greatful for correct answers.
the best says
not only the strongest ever but the greatest in a time when the bar has never been higher.
