It’s time for the 2014 Chinese Fall National Weightlifting Championships. This is a competition where we won’t see the top guys (as those prepare for worlds), but there are still plenty of nice lifts.

Says Cheng Meng took the snatch and total gold medal but not the clean and jerk. I’m guessing by his 160 attempt (the announcers blamed the fail on his inexperience as he rushed to jerk) that either someone lighter than him did 159 or someone heavier than him did 160. Huang went 140, 148, 151 in the snatch and 163x, 163, 168x in the clean and jerk

Thanks. I saw someone else C&J 155, so I guess this guy was lighter. Long videos are being uploaded to youtube.

That’s Deng Changmin 邓昌敏. He was 55.91 while Meng was 55.92 as far as I could decipher.

    Interesting tidbits
In the 69 video, it says that Shi Zhiyong was supposed to go instead of Lin Qingfeng to Incheon but Shi pulled out due to small injury. Also, the announcer says that Liu Hao should not have been able to defeat Almas Uteshov under normal conditions. However, on that day, after Almas’ lift, he came to the back room, saw Liu Hao and pointed his thumb to himself, to mean ‘I am the best; you are behind me’ and this was taken with challenge and offense, which fired up Liu Hao to win.
In the 77 video, Lu Haojie says he has some serious catching up to do after his training was hindered by injury. Recently, his training bests were only 160, 190 so he was very happy with his 165, 196.

Thank you very much as always!
Do they mention the 62 c&j winner (172)? Or Su Dajin’s best snatch in the 77?

        Nope

It’s amazing to think how deep are China’s resources in the 69’s. Feng Ludong is just the 5th or 6th option on the team and hits a 340 total, which is what Oleg Chen totalled to get Silver at last year’s worlds :O

Late, but based on recent-ish results he’s actually tied for third with Shi Zhiyong. They have Liao Hui of course, then a big gap, Lin Qingfeng with a little advantage and then seven to eight guys with 330-340.
