Here are clips from the 85kg Warm Up Area at the 2015 World Weightlifting Championships.
It was pretty busy in there. You focus on one lifter and you miss 2 attempts happening behind your back. And before you know it you already have to rush back out to capture the last competition lifts.
Let’s start with the snatches. World champion Artem Okulov, Apti Aukhadov, Tian Tao, Kianoush Rostami going head to head.

Update 02.02.2016: Here is the Clean & Jerk video.
And yes, Tian missed one of his last warm up attempts, just like last year with 200kg.
Beto says
Even with 195 kg Tao was loosing the bar, so it is obvious that 210 would be noway
Anton Mårtensson says
He missed 200 last year, maybe he should focus more on jerks. The cleans are waaaay easy.
sam says
i concur … he can clean anything
tdel says
Yeah, that was really ominous. I really don’t understand how both Tian and Lu keep training the deep squat jerk when it’s clearly such a liability. Both of these guys should have crushed the C&J world records by now given their truly disgusting strength in the clean. These guys have perfect mobility and ridiculous strength–why not just split, or even power? Shrug.
wlift84 says
Tian needs a 188 snatch so he doesn’t have to bother with anything heavy in the jerk, which fails.
Anton Mårtensson says
lol true
asdasd says
I guess problem not in the squat jerk. Compare Apti’s chest and back curvature to Tian’s right before the jerk. In general, Russian vs Chinese chest and back tensions before jerks. They are somewhat different to me. Does it look the same to you?
Leviathar says
In a interview Yu Jie said that Tian faced some back problems, mainly to “keep it tight” at the moment he droped under the weight
asdasd says
I know that. Also Lu didn’t make it because he didn’t warm properly.
In general I have a feeling that Chinese lifters lack behind in jerk (including split jerkers). Maybe it is just my wrong feeling.
They have this awkward chest and back position.
Does anyone feel the same?
