Holy F, he looks massive! Anybody know if he is going to Rio?

Why not? Do you think he is training for fun?:)

Of course he is. Poland team for Rio: Adrian Zielinski and his brother Tomas in 94kg; Bonk and Michalski in 105kg

Will they send Bonk even if he bommed his snatches at nationals? Also this will be his 3rd olympics

Yes they probably will. His last couple competition were pretty weak with bombing out, but he still is semi competetive on good day (especially after Kazakh/Rusiian athlete reduction at IO), which we can’t say about other guys from team: Daniel Dołega 105+ is capable of 180+230; Krzysztof Szramiak 77 with 359 (159+185) and Krzysztof Zwarycz hit similar total being light 85

Great to see him back in top shape. One of my favorite lifters.

Why back? With all respect Zielinski is all on major competition since 2010? I mean WC and IO…

Yes but since he went to -94 kg his numbers were about the same as when he was -85, i knew he would at some point gain alot. When he made 177-214 (And super close on 218) i said that he will get even better as the olympics come closer

After his Olympic gold 2012 he missed the podium at the 2013 World championships and then transferred to 94 kg, where his results seemed to stall for a few years. I hadn’t checked is exact results when writing my previous post, but he did win the European championships 2014 and came second at the World championships last year, which I had missed. So “back” was maybe a poor choice of word.

It’s going to be interesting to see if he can put up a fight for a second Olympic gold.

I’m not gonna put too much into this. He’s struggled with 175/210 as a 94 since London.

Trust me these days are over. He had all kinds of injuries, but now is back healthy
