Meanwhile in South Africa …
22 year old Alex-Edward Raus (EST, 104.6kg bodyweight) got a 330kg ATG Squat at the 2014 IPF Raw World Championships.
Hard to judge depth from this angle 😉
Together with a 215.5kg Bench Press and 310kg Deadlift he got a 852.5kg Total.

Man, I wish the IPF would ditch the gear to the circus feds so all of their lifters would compete in one big competitive and most importantly comparable meet.
Everett says
Sadly, it’s not going to happen. All the gear companies have to pay IPF thousands of dollars to be IPF approved. Thus, this is a pretty big source of income for the IPF. The IPF is actually the most “anti-raw” fed out there. They dragged their feet about getting a raw division, and they were the absolute last fed out of scores of federations to ever adopt a raw division.

That’s one possibility. Not sure it’s going to happen. However, I think the fact that more lifters are starting to compete in both raw and geared. This guy squats 385 in gear.
Everett says
Here’s just the squat, from a better angle. From this angle you can see he at least hits parallel. He might go a little deeper than parallel, if you pause it at just the right moment.
