Meanwhile in Greece …
Anastasios Triantafyllou gets a 320kg Squat.
The now 26 year old lifted in the Bejing 2008 94kg category (155+196). In 2009 he tested positive for Methylhexamneamine (aka 1,3-dimethylamylamine or DMAA) and was banned for 4 years (which was later reduced to 2 years).
Jay Blais says
4 years for DMAA? wow
Gregor says
Same what Lapikov got for being tested positve for it https://allthingsgym.com/dmitry-klokov-interviews-dmitry-lapikov/
Jay Blais says
i feel like creatine bans are next. I understand DMAA is basically meth, but they will pretty much ban anything these days. NCAA banned caffeine
Frank Levinson says
dmaa is nothing like meth or any other hard stim. it’s barely better than caffeine. it’s insane all these people are getting banned for it.
Jay Blais says
DMAA is nuts. I would never take it again i thought i was gonna die. I know there is not much legit research on it, but if it is on the banned list. dont take it
Tyler Banville says
Doping issues aside, it’s good to see decent weightlifters still in Greece. I don’t think any country has ever fallen off so badly so fast in any sport, the way Greece did after 2004.
