i’m quite sure that this snatch is the same as in the “again”-link… not the same recording, but the same attempt.

200 kg snatch for a -105 lifter even in training means nothing but world class. Kudos to Bartlomiej!

It’s interesting that this lift got close to no recognition whereas everbody was going nuts over Klokov’s 200 in the training hall. You can only imagine that all hell would break loose when Ilya snatches 200 in training. When Bonk does it: “Yeah, well…”. I don’t say this as an accusation since I can understand the reasons for this though.

      good points.
indeed there are a lot of lifters out there who do not get the recognition they deserve, judged under sports aspect. bonk is (was?) one of them.

Bonk has always been a 105kg B-lister. Recent Int. totals: 394,410,404,408. Why would anyone give him any extra recognition with these results.

because over 400kg several times in international competitions and third place at olympics, 2kg behind the winner, means he is an world-class athlete and deserves this recognition.

You are missing the point. This isn’t about his “recent international totals”. This is about this very lift, 200 kg snatch.

Good point, and I think it’s good Gregor reposted. Sometimes the WLing internet can become just Klokov and the other same big names (an awesome lifter, but a retired one who hasn’t competed at the Olympics in almost a decade).
