Chen Lijun 183kg Clean and Jerk World Record + 333kg Total World Record

January 11, 2016 By Gregor Winter

Meanwhile in Houston…

Chen Lijun (62kg) from China broke two world records, one in the Clean & Jerk and one in the Total. He went 150kg in the Snatch, failing his 152kg third attempt by slipping on the platform. Followed by 183kg in the Clean & Jerk for a 333kg Total.

Earlier this year at the Chinese Test Event he went 154/182 matching both of the old world records. He said his goal was to go after Kim Un Guk (People’s Republic of Korea) and he certainly succeeded.

More: Here are all his Snatch Attempts (150kg).

After Chen’s WR, the full competition video shows his coach (Wan Jianhui) hugging him in the backroom and telling Chen, “That’s how it should be, but your snatch should have been better. Next time, get your snatch up!”

LOL Dude, even his face looks like Wan. And what he said totally sounded like what a coach would say.

He really seemed psyched up and ready. It was a joy to watch him lift.

I imagine getting psyched up comes more readily when your life depends on the next lift, which is closer to the truth in the afore mentioned countries than we might think.
