Time for the quarterly check in with the Chinese weightlifting team.

Translation: Thanks to Victor
The Chinese team is in their final week of the 5-week seclusion training in Anhui.
This is a special training spot since everything from the air to the calmness is pristine and it usually produces large improvements in the male training team. This was the first year that the female team was also invited to come.
The male team members have all reached nearly their peak conditions. Long Qingquan attempted 171 but only cleaned it.
His snatch is up to 139 and he often attempts 170 clean and jerk (implying the he has yet to make one recently). In 4 more days, they will return to Beijing to keep training there.

Wow can’t wait to see Long lift again.

Can’t wait to see if Wu Jingbiao can keep his form! I don’t really expect to see Long improve much since with all this hype, he is still not even at his best yet (he did 170 before and his 171 here looked crappy; he couldn’t even attempt the jerk). But Wu Jingbiao was said to routinely do 310 in training (getting 140 in the snatch 80% of the times) and commonly doing 170 clean and jerk as well. Hope he doesn’t lose that form like he did going into London…

Long 133-136-139. Wu 134-137-140. It’s happening.
