Update: Read his Interview on ATG.
Clarence Kennedy adds 5kg to his 221kg front squat from the other day.
Comes in close to the 231kg front squat of Kendrick Farris.
226kg @ 89kg bodyweight.
Actually increasing my front squat is ‘easy’ because I brought my backsquat up to a big number. I have a big reserve in strength for this exercise. Front squats were my biggest weakness and now I’m really working on it. Most elite lifters who backsquat 262 are able to front squat 235-240. Backsquats are pointless for weightlifting BUT they are used to increase your front squat because this exercise is dangerous.
Kevin M says
Two things:
1. Thank you Clarence for giving hope to taller 85s.
2. Damn that was sketchy, way to grind it out.
Woss Di Julio says
You think he will ever move up in weight?
Kevin M says
He’s probably borderline. Not like he carries much body fat either. He might face the same problem Kendrick does cutting down to 85.
