I think this was the heaviest (as in percentage of world record) lift that happened in the 2015 Worlds Training Hall.
Correction: It wasn’t! Boyanka Kostova snatched up to 110kg in two separate training sessions, when the world record stood at 111kg.
Daniyar Ismayilov (69kg, Turkey) snatching 160kg. That’s 96.3% of Liao Hui’s world record (166kg).
Later in competition he was able to replicate this lift on his 2nd attempt, which earned him the Snatch gold medal.
Oh and he also Clean & Jerked up to 180kg that session.

Has a very strong snatch, just like Mete Binay, but not good enough in clean&jerk. If he wants to be a champion, he must improve his c&j until the Olympics.
Victor says
His clean and jerk is way stronger than Mete Binay’s. He very almost had 188 while Binay is mid-170’s level. I wouldn’t be surprised if he goes over 350 (163+188?) in Rio, at which point no one except Liao Hui can be confident about beating him. Shi Zhiyong may or may not be able to…

Rather be glad that we have another strong 69 with him. Depth is great at the moment.
Kyle Roach says
hopefully he can push Liao Hui enough to really go after big records. I feel like if he had competition near him and needed to go big to win the olympics, Liao could go 170/ low 200s confidently
