Derek Kendall 373kg (823 lbs) Front Squat

November 2, 2014 By Gregor Winter

Meanwhile in the US …

Derek Kendall bests his own mega Front Squat, which was the heaviest on video yet.

After his 362kg (800 lbs) in January this year, here is a 373kg Front Squat (823 lbs).

Unbelievable…

I’m amazed at how he’s able to do it with a cross armed grip- I’ve always found that to be so hard and less forgiving in terms of forward lean.

The situation is probably a bit different when you’re a 340lb mammoth with shoulders that can bench 600 for reps.

he probably can’t even front rack… look at this guys arms…
      monstrous.

The attention is obviously on this guy’s leg strength, but think just how strong his upper back is to be able to support that weight all the way down and up.

Yup .. unracking und inhaling with 373 kg is a feat in itself.

Again we have a spotter who does not know his job. He is touching the bar and it even looks like he is pulling it up.

Cant tell if its eric or Ernie lilliebridge spotting, but either way, they are both all time world record holder in their weight classes in po werlifting. Maybe guided the bar here, but he knew what he was doing

If you spot like this in any competition, that would be red light and a new job for the spotter. How difficult is it to keep your hands an inch below the bar? If the squatter really collapses, you will not hold with wrists anyway.

This is not a competition lift. Many weightlifting coaches spot like this. What’s the problem?

Seriously, Peter is obviously a little internet critic who rains on everyone’s parade, if he could squat half this on a back squat he would probably crap his pants with glee. Last time I checked they do not allow front squats in competition.

Spotter touches the bar, does not count as a PR. Even though this is amazing, it infuriates me that Eric touches the damn bar the whole time.

Gym lifts by definition “don’t count.” Only competition. 🙂

it does count as a per and a world record front squat , who gives a flying fuck if eric touches the bar he is not helping. Eric is one of the worlds best powerlifters he knows how to spot this is like something never seen before , derek is the worlds best front squatter
