I really wanna try this, but when you consider that this is under 1/3rd of what he is capable of, the bare bar may be too much weight for me!
James Betts @ Treadmill Coach says
I’m going to try this but will probably start around 30 kg
Thrand says
Interesting exercise if performed with the right focus. But I envision many a shoulder socket getting properly scre**d, courtesy of the “let’s do a 1RM WOD out of this” mentality.
As for its usefulness for WL proper, I would pay to see Abadjiev’s reaction to this video…:-)

Lol I envision klokov going home every night laughing his head off while counting money he’s made from selling these exercises he’s made up on the spot. He could walk in and tell ppl to slit their wrists as an exercise if he wanted lol.
Gym Hodgson says
Awesome.

Man I’ve done these with the bar as a warm up. Most of the time I’m okay with standing muscle snatches from the hip. Didn’t think this was humanly possible with 60kg but then again…..
Mike says
I tried this standing. It actually made my shoulders feel very good. Agree that going for a 1RM is bad on many levels. I wouldn’t go below 5 reps. Is it useful for WL? Time will tell. My snatch is so bad that I think anything will help at this point.

OMG!!! I like it!!!
