Meanwhile in Russia …
Dmitry Klokov visited the training camp in Ruza.
(Watch his Tour of the Taganrog camp here.)
Note / Translation from Sergiy Turchyn:
Chingiz is preparing for Worlds along with Ruslan Albegov, Alexey Lovchev, Dmitry Lapikov.
Lapikov is disappointed in the Snatch at Russian nationals. Does not give a clear answer about Rio.
Vasya just had his first meet in the last 5 years. He doesn’t like his performance at nationals because he did not go 6/6 (technical mistake in the clean and jerk). During the last 5 years he paid to be able to train with the team. Now he is training for Worlds together with David Bedzhanyan, Maxim Sheiko, Martin Sabanchiev.
Artem Ivanov is just starting his training (lifting 140+180 at the moment). Thinking about competing next year and possibly move to 105.
Apti Aukhadov seems to feel better after 2 surgeries. Snatches 160×2, c&j around 190-200. Training for Worlds. He is also thinking about doing seminars after Worlds.

How many Chingiz’s could that elevator hold?
grobpote says

Gregor says
For sauna I guess

Someone was bound to ask, sauna or later.
Gregor says
Saunafabitch
Tom Bennett says
saunafagun?
Brian D says
Venik leaves. They are dried and bound, then whipped across the body; this opens up the capillaries and improves bloodflow. Apparently the oil from the leaves are beneficial too. My coach says it helps immunity and such but I’m skeptical.
grobpote says
Thank You 🙂
Beto says
What was the cause of Apti’s surgery?
wat says
he had both back problem AND groin hernia
Beto says
Thank you man.
Tom Bennett says

A Platza (Yiddish for shoulders or back) is a potent Russian healing tool enjoyed in an inferno of a room known as a Schvitz or Banya. This is a traditional Russian experience unlike any other. It is done on the uppermost bench, because heat rises, with an oak leaf broom called a venik, a very leafy, fragrant bundle of extremely fresh oak tree twigs. The fresh forest-like smell of the venik creates a sedative effect and melts stress. The venik leaves release organic phytoncides, infection inhibitors, decreasing the growth and development of pathogens in the body. Essential oils are also released, preventing premature aging of the skin. The oak leaves contain a natural astringent, which will open your pores, remove toxins, and exfoliate dead skin. Steam bathing stimulates protein circulation while improving digestibility of proteins, fats, carbohydrates, and mineral elements. This intensifies skin capillary activities, strengthens metabolism as the body is filled with energy and the immune system is improved.
