Time for some bodybuilding moves.
On today’s menu: 240kg Shrugs with Dmitry Klokov. Get Yoked!
Personally I like his Snatch Grip Swinging High Pulls a.k.a. “Trapi” better.

The workout moves are on the second video.
As the old Soviet Manuals would say “Notice how the organism interacts with the resistance of the apparatus”
The first video shows moves for Movement To Contact in a Meat Market Gym.
“Notice how the organism tries to overcome the Resistance of the Female Apparatus in the gym.”
Can’t fault him for that

i noticed on a few videos that when he does these, or deads, he has one foot slightly in front of the other, wondering what the reason is?
Gregor says
In the comments he said that there is no particular reason (injury etc). Just personal preference.

personally, i think its due to his natural stance… he stands around with a bit of lean and i think his movement pathology over time has probably created some asymmetries and with his one foot in front he probably finds his body more centred n balanced…. he may not actively know or think about doing this but your body has a way to compensate for imbalances.. also im making this educated guess based off his injury history too

klokov always drifts right/clockwise after he finishes a jerk – you’ll see the weight rotate. if you look at the right angle, you’ll see his right knee hyperextends and is positioned in some recurvatum. the left knee looks more normal. im guessing this may have something to do with it… im surprised he was able to lift at such a high level for so long with such a large structural imblance

Some of the best lifters don’t always have the picture perfect form. The funny thing is that lifters, maybe not most of them that read this blog, but many do feel that proper alignment is the only way to lift. Yates is right in that the body finds ways to compensate and it feels comfortable for that particular person. When it comes to deadlifts or squatting, you can actually have one foot slightly forward or one hip externally rotated. It’s truly what your body feels best with.

Can anybody explain to me how he has his straps?
finlifter says
they’re old school straps with no loop. he mainly has his straps on his hands..

Interesting, thanks for the info 🙂
