Meanwhile in Russia…
Dmitry Lapikov snatches 215kg! at what looks like maybe 120kg-130kg.
205kg, 210kg, 215kg
Good to see him making the best use out of his forced time out until 13-05-2015.
Update #1: Since I received that information the Russian weightlifting federation was successful with its appeal, reducing the ban to 2 years starting from May 13, 2011. (source)
Thanks to everybody who submitted this. Shout outs go to Dan who always spots the good videos first, Everett, Pim, Phil and all you anonymous guys and hopefully girls too.

He moved up to a super? When did this happen!?
GregorATG says
Maybe he was thinking: “I am banned anyway. So way not get as strong as I can in the meantime”
Dustin Oranchuk says
he has been a super since 2010, he won the 2011 euros in the super heavy class

Holy crap
Jonny says
Damnnnn, a really nicely done 215kg too, 2016 olympics the year of lots of high weight attempts similar to 2000?
Pablo Lara says
No straps too. Looks like Russia won’t miss Chigishev, sadly :(.
Joe says
How much money a year do these guys get? The top level. Klokov, Salimi, Steiner etc.
Vincent says
Depends a LOT on the country. But about Russia:

Does anyone know for sure what he was banned for? I heard it was
1,3-dimethylamylamine.
GregorATG says
On the sanctioned athletes page of the IWF it says :Methylhexanamine

seb says
he is already banned and uploads a training clip of 215 snatch. what a genius 😀 but it really looks shocking. and awfully slow
2ndpull says

Yes, mentioned this here https://allthingsgym.com/2012/07/background-information-on-the-lapikov-video/

Russia could really use a great superheavyweight lifter because neither Chigishev nor Albegov could have been and could be compared to Taranenko and Kurlovich. I know that they are not russians basically but it isn’t the point…
Rob says
This is awesome!… but he is heavier than 120- 130… he was 120 in the 2011 europeans and was shreeded. im guessing he is closer to 140 here
