Eddie Hall 450kg (457kg) Deadlift

January 31, 2015 By Gregor Winter

Meanwhile in the UK …

Eddie Hall deadlifts what he thought was 450kg (no belt, with straps).

Later when he weighed the plates it turned out to be 457kg.

Not too long until Bennie Deadlift record will fall.

Guy squats 340×5 beltless and benches 260×2. He should do a PL meet. 1050 kgs? 1090?

He says that he can bench 300 and squat 400 with proper preparation. Problem with his deadlift is that the difference between Strongman style pull and Powerlifting legal pull seems to be rather high. Maybe 430? Anyway I think he can break 1100 quite comfortably.

Yes, quite different from a PL deadlift, but I was taking that into account. In fact, I was actually estimating a little lower than those numbers. I had 380/260/410 in mind when I wrote 1050. 1100 kgs + might be a little optimistic since the all-time PL total world record is 1100 kgs raw with wraps, but who knows. I genuinely hope he will do a meet–he has some insane brute strength on the gym lifts.

I’d sign the 1050 right away 😉 As much as I’d like to see him do a full meet … there’s not enough incentive (money, fame, prestige) for the top strongman to do it imo. Radzikowski says it has no purpose for him and that it would be a boring thing to do 😀 Eddie said someting similar if I remember correctly. However Big Z wants to do a full meet before he retires…

Where did you see Zydrunas say that?

I’d say it more has to do with having more to lose by doing a meet than having anything to gain. Honestly, doing a PL meet is a little more difficult than most people think. My best gym lifts from different days added up are a 745 kg total raw but my best competition total is 705 kgs. Doing all those lifts on the same day takes a lot out of you–especially when you are squatting almost 400 kgs and deadlifting 450!

If Benni’s DL WR will fall then he’ll be the one breaking it 😉
