Graham Hicks 200kg Log Press *Update* 205kg Log

September 9, 2012 By Gregor Winter

Here is 2011 105kg England’s Strongest Man, Graham Hicks with a 200kg log press.

Closing in on Zydrunas Savickas’ 217.5kg record.

With all his Oly skills I wonder why Misha has not already claimed that record?

Update 25.05.2014: Graham gets a 205kg Log

Also, 320kg Squat x2.

Filed Under: Log Press, strongman, videos, Zydrunas Savickas

Watch the 2010 WSM Final to see why Misha hasn’t claimed it. Z owns the log press.

I just watched it (here if anybody is interested http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vhkbQCzgeqw&feature=player_detailpage#t=1430s )

Looks like his Oly technique doesn’t work that well for log presses.

Z makes it look way too easy.

No bar rebound on the jerk dip. The log sits out front. Just way too different for much carryover.

          You are right.

Gotta love the squatting of 320 kg outside of a squat rack in what looks like it could be a “fitness salon” for middle aged businessmen and their wealthy wives. I’m guessing it isn’t that kind of place, but you can just imagine someone of that strength grabbing a day pass to a ‘spa,’ squatting 300+ kg, bailing on a rep and dumping the bar and plates on the floor. And then, telling the owner “real sorry ‘bput that,” gathering his gear and leaving. Of course, no “spa’ or ‘salon’ would have 200 kg, let alone 300 kg, in plates, but if it did…

Because Misha hasn’t really worked on it yet. This is the first year he’ll be concentrating on Strongman only.I am very curious to see the results it will yield. The 105kgs class has some very good numbers with the split jerk technique(Carlos Reyes 380-Scott Porter 370)

      I just looked them up.

Scott uses only a very slight split jerk. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dgGgV9kR5Ks

That technique looks like a good compromise.

That’s Zack McCarley America 105kg Strongest Man using the split too

the gym i train at IS exactly what you think. But the manager is into strongman and bought a texas powerlifting bar and 400kg of plates. I like it, go in get on with what i want to do and leave. Bit unique but i make it work. The old grannies on the bike machines dont agree lol
Think we will see Big Z surpass 220kg this year at WSM !

      That’s awesome.

      Good luck at WSM!
