Hossein Rezazadeh 180kg Power Snatch

February 22, 2014 By Gregor Winter

Blast from the past …

Here is on from the 2006 Worlds training hall.

Hossein Rezazadeh with what looks to be a 180kg Power Snatch (if the thin black plate is 15kg).

Probably not the heaviest Power Snatch ever from him, but certainly the heaviest on ATG so far.

(Video via Marcos on Facebook)

Also watch the back Squats he did there.

There is also this Front Squat video of him. Not sure about the Weight.

Also check out his 220kg Power Clean.

This is 180. I have photos of several of his workouts in Santo Domingo for the 2006 Worlds. He did a lot power versions due to a minor knee injury. The green 10’s next to the 15 black training bumpers making the 15’s look thinner than they are. For several days in a row he worked up to 180 and 220 like clock work then squatted by how he felt. A few days before he competed he did 200/240 very easily and back squatted 305 for 2 sets of 2 reps only doing 1 warmup set. You can hear him grunting, but it’s not because of the weight it was his knee bothering him. Most workouts went like this. He would stretch out a lot with a bar. Snatch presses with overhead squats. Then he would do 70 for 2 powersnatches with 1-2 overhead squats. He would take this 3-4 times. Then do the same with 120. When he felt warmed up he would do 150 for 1-2 singles. !70 for 1 then 180 for 1. Rest a few minutes. warmups with 170 for clean and jerks. 2 powercleans, a front squat, and a push press or jerk. Do this 2-3 times. Then 200 several times. then 220 for 2 singles and squat. The workout would take 45 minutes maybe. I have never seen anyone start warming up for clean and jerks with 170, but it looked like nothing in his hands.

have you seen his 220 kg powerclean?
he barely bend his knees…it was like an empty bar…
      i wonder how thats possible..
do you think he could have totaled 500 kg?
cause i remember him saying in 2004 that if wont have any health issues he is able to lift heavier weights
      and total 500 kg…..
