On my YouTube channel I regularly get asked about how to mount gymnastics rings to the ceiling. So here is how I installed mine.
This is a 12mm diameter o-ring bolt. It reaches ~100mm into the reinforced concrete ceiling.
I drilled a 14mm hole and and put a 14mm heavy duty dowel into it. This setup will hold plenty of weight.
My rings are 60cm apart (or 23.6 inches if you are living in of Liberia, Myanmar or the U.S.).
Competition still rings are 50cm apart if I remember correctly. But they are using longer straps as well. And since I didn’t want the straps to touch my shoulders when in support hold I made mine 60cm apart. That works very well for me.
I wanted to do a video tutorial about this but I discovered that Arthlete on YouTube already made a pretty good one using almost the same stuff as I did (his bolts are fancier than mine).
If for some reason drilling is not an option there is always the possibility of hanging the rings from a door frame pull up bar. It may not be the best option due to the confined space, but it sure enough let’s you do a lot of things.
