Get some training inspiration from Werner Günthör; a former Swiss track & field athlete and owner of the 5th best shot put in track & field history.

Really interesting to see his training methods for maximum explosive strength.

Lots of barbell work with eccentric emphasis, plyometrics, isometrics, static holds followed by explosive / dynamic work (clip two at 5:04).
