Meanwhile in Albania …
Good News! Looks like Hysen Pulaku isn’t “done with lifting” afterall.
Remember that after he tested positive at the Olympics (only weightlifter to do so) he received a two year ban.
This ban will be in place until 27.07.2014.
For a recap of some of his amazing lifts check out the Hysen Pulaku posts on ATG.
Here he is with a crisp Power Clean.
Update 27.09.2014: It was confirmed by the IWF (to the Albanian federation) that Hysen can lift at the Rio Olympics!
Update: YouTube Version
Check out his 166kg Snatch and 211kg Clean & Jerk.

I wish Hysen the best and hopes he gets back in full force for Rio. Seems like such a nice kid.
WADA says
He can’t compete at Rio.
Greg says
Testing positive at the olympics means you can neither compete at another olympic games, nor can you collect points for your team, which makes him effectively a pariah for the Albanian team and we’re unlikely to see him in international competition again.
Roger says
If any of the recent accusations regarding large-scale positive tests of formerly negative samples at the Olympics, the international weightlifting community will be gutted. When weightlifting is blown apart, we will see Pulaku on the platform again.
No, unless the rules change, it won’t be at the Olympic Games, but that is assuming that the sport of weightlifting will itself be at the Olympic Games. He is still a young man, with many good lifts still in his shoes.
mrtn says
he would have a real reason to change to crossfit..

Is that 205 on the bar in the second one? or 185?
Ivan Bista says

Is he training somewhere in the US again? I noticed an American flag on the mirror in the first vid.
Doug Nguyen says
Wow, I miss his lifting. I wanted to see him at the Olympics so badly.
