Ilya Ilyin (an avid ATG reader) saw Artem Ivanov’s 190 kg Snatch and put 2.5 more kilos on it.
What a training session. 192.5 kg Snatch.
Clean & Jerk up to 230kg
Thanks to Dan and the anonymous submitters for letting me know.

Holy fucking shit. This blog has inspired me to start olympic lifting, actually. Keep it up man.

Wow really? That’s awesome Ola.
Are you Ola from http://olablirstark.blogspot.com ?
Ola says
Yep, that’s me. I’ve linked to this site; did you find me through the google analytics logs?
The blog started out as a way to document my first serious attempt to train with a barbell (starting strength) in january this year, and has since become my general training blog since my shoulder stopped me from continuing with low bar squats. I’ll begin training olympic lifting regularly at a proper OL club as soon as my membership card arrives, perhaps this friday. I’m late to the game att 33 years old, but barbell training is the most fun I’ve ever had in a gym. I have atrocious coordination but hopefully a coach can teach me not to bang the bar into my genitals when snatching…

That is going to be fun. I’ll check your updates (via google translate)

Thanks for the thread, good info there! When watching the european championships (thanks for those posts!) I noticed a lot of guys did a little tuck-back right before the snatch, at least in 77 and 85 classes where they don’t have as much belly fat.
My writing style in Swedish probably gives google translate some issues since I use quite a bit of peculiar word play and other linguistic trickery to make it more fun to read if you speak the language. If you’re interested enough and some bits are incomprehensible, feel free to drop a comment on the post and I’d be happy to translate for you.

I will definitely check out your post. Your coach will probably have some good advice to fix beginner errors. Always interested in stuff like that.
