Weightlifting on screen graphics have not changed in a while.
The video below shows nice ideas, like:
- timer which is always shown
- instant bar weight
- instant referee decisions
Your suggestions: What would you like to see?
(Bonus points if you get creative and make a mockup of your idea)

Maximum bar speed and height. 🙂

Current standings (currently in 2nd place overall). Kilos back (3 kgs behind leader). Relative world/olympic records (WR is 214). What’s on the bar, which attempt, time remaining.

I’d like to see the scoreboard more often to work out what tactics and weights this or that lifter should do to win etc.(based on my subjective feeling of previous lifts). Also be cool to see when and what changes are made, if for instance someone has a tough looking lift, do the competing lifters up their weights or just go for the same anyway etc?
Might lend itself better to an internet page one could monitor along with the tv broadcast rather than getting everything on one screen though.
Also, I want to see more of their warmup!!!

I really need a scrolling bar at the bottom to tell me about how deep the lifter is squatting, and how much harder the front squat is than the backsquat, in case I forget.

These things cover too much from the screen. I don’t like them. Too much advertisements in the background are also very disturbing (I know that is nessesary but..) I hated those competitions in the ’90-s when the background was like watching a Formula 1 pilot’s jacket and you couldn’t see the competitors.

i dont like how the bar on the bottom keeps me from being able to see the lifters who body during the slow replays. other than that, yes… weightlifting needs a visual update.

Better to have the info bar at the very top of the screen, then it doesn’t block out any part of the lift as does the current placement.
