Meanwhile in Russia …
I think this is the first training video from Khadzhimurat Akkaev after London 2012.
200kg BTN Jerk. In Jeans and loafers.
You can also see his scar from his surgery which prevented him to compete in London.
If health permits me, I will be back and will champion as always!!! Thank you for the kind words
More Akkaev:
Update: In his interview on ATG he talks about how that video came to be.

One of the most exciting 105kg lifters. Hopefully he’ll be there in Rio.
Sim says
I would so love to see Klokov, Akkaev, Aramnau and Ilyin battle it out in Rio.
Ivan Bista says
and Nurudinov obviously. One can dream.
grobpote says
I think Nurudinov will be the man in the 105 kgs. I put my bet on him against even Ilya Ilin.
Gregor says
Ohhh, okay okay 🙂
grobpote says
Well,we need to be brave don’t we? 🙂 He is a very young guy and I really hope he’s gonna break all the 105 kgs cat records in the future. As for Ilya, I don’t like that he turns up quite rarely in competitions – though if he does he is terrific – and you never know when will you see him. Aramnau almost never turns up, the russians are getting old.So he is my favorite nowadays.
Ivan Bista says
seriously though, he s been making a terrific progress and seeing him in Wroclaw last year I thought, this is one scary huge man. And strong.
Magneto says
One of my favorite lifters. His jerk is ridiculous, I always had to laugh at how easy he made it look. He jerked the 245 like he would jerk 200, its just crazy. Its always fast, with a mini-mini dip and he doesn’t even need a deep split to get under the bar. I’m scared of the numbers he could jerk from the rack in his prime.

waow… I cant believe that one that experienced back injury than continue weightlifting. How can it be possible???
grobpote says
Body heals. He just need some time and help. That’s it.
Ronald Alan Van Lierop II says
That’s what I call casual lifting.
