That’s some of the fastest speed under the bar I’ve ever seen
Goal250total says
Well I wish I could add allmost 200kg to my total in 3 years. WHAT THE FUCK ARE THEY FEEDING TO THESE GUYS? sry for caps but really I’am really amazed by the progress.
Wally Broccoli says
Growth spurt + Training almost all the day + Russian Coaching + PEDs.
DeepBlue says
there are plenty of teenagers in russia (china, eastern europe,etc..) with that formula but we don’t see many C&J’ing 200kg at 85kg,16y/o. So i think in this case the main factor, is a FREAKING AWESOME talent for the sport.
Wally Broccoli says
Basically Khetag, is a rare case. At this point, he’s like a Kolecki, or an Ilyin.
C J says
He’s got a really impressive beard for a 16 year old.
Beto says
that’s why deadlifts are a very poor exercise for weightlifters, speed under the bar is everything in this sport
mrtn says
if you dont come under the bar fast enough, its not the right exercise to improve it. if your back is too weak to keep tension or your pulls are poor, its a good one.
you shouldnt generalise it..
btw.: outstanding talent. besides this, he does not seem to be this guy who looses his half total on competition platforms (196kg at junior worlds..), due to nervousness, weight loss and cleaning up.
Jerker Karlsson says
Aukhadov, Maligov, Okulov and now Khugaev, the Russian team sure looks stacked of world-class 85 kg lifters. I wonder who will lift at the worlds this year and if Aukhadov and maybe one more will move up to 94 kg.
Who is there to challenge them besides Markov and maybe Rostami, the Iranian?
Tom Bennett says
Rostami is tough….isn’t there a Moldavian that’s really good too?
Jerker Karlsson says
I don’t know really. Looking at the results from last year’s worlds there were Zielinski and Rybakov together with a Cuban lifter outside the top three, but pretty close in total. Zielinski seems to be moving up to 94 kg, don’t know if Rybakov is still competing.
Tom Bennett says
forgot about Rybakov…he’s one of the greatest and of course there’s the chinese lifter that won the Olympics too. 77kg, 85kg and 94kg are stacked always it seems. I think I was thinking about the 94kg lifter that was 2nd under Illin actually.
