    I wonder why he didn’t attempt 257 c&j for a total WR…

The 250 didn’t look like he could’ve done 257 on that day.

Right, it looked like he wasn’t in great c&j form but then, why would he take 250? Seems like he should take 248 after Ruben’s failed 247. Adding unnecessary weight is usually what lifters do when they’re so confident they don’t care.

probably came for the Snatch record and wasn’t emotionally up to the WR total…

It is really unbelievable how easy it still looks. I think his current max is somewhere between 220-225.

I have heard in training he has done 225/270, only time will tell. we may never see it if not pushed as he will break it 1kg at a time for the bonus

What a unique thing to do! The only other weight class is the 56 kg where you can do this. Lasha is unbelievable – he is now in the superheavy hall of fame for me amongst giants like Taranenko,Pisarenko,Kurlovich and Krastev.

      Do what in the 56?

I meant that the 56 kg is the only weight cat from the old times so it can be compared to todays results. Of course the 56 kg world records are stronger in this new era than in the 80’s.

          +1. Same thoughts…
105+ seems to be one of the very few weight classes that is now comparable and sometimes even better than 80’s results, with Lovchev and now Talakhadze. I would only add Liao Hui in 69 – if not this ridiculous situation with retirement (break?) in Rio…

he’s definitely the best snatcher in the SHW’s ever.

    This era is Talakhadze’s era…
Good for us to see 220 very soon
    The best ever snatch
