What comes out really well is just how huge the arena is. No wonder some lifters struggle with stage fright.

I’ve been to 2 womens events and to the 77kg final last night. What a madhouse that was. TV doesn’t do it justice. When Lu hit that record in the Snatch, people were screaming cheers. The battle for 3rd made the place tense. What a wonderful event to have attended. I’m really super excited to see the 85kg tomorrow.

I only can imagine how the crowd exploded after that snatch.
It was electric. When he hit that C&J the house nearly came down. I think he was genuinely shocked at how warm and welcoming a non-Chinese audience was for him. It was his night plain and simple. Also when the other Chinese lifter came out and hit the C&J, it was amazing. People only realized that he was injured after that lift. It was unreal.
Personally, I was hoping Sae would give Lu a run for the money but after that injury it was destined to be a blow out. I’l report more on the 85kg after tomorrow.
