i didnt think it was possible but he looks even more muscular. I wonder if he will go 85 and Liao will go 77 after Rio.
Magneto says
I noticed that too, esp. his arms. However he said several times before that he actually has to “work” to stay in the 77 as he tends to lose bodyweight quickly when training gets intense. As for Liao, which incentive could he have to move up? There is no real competition for him right now and China doesn’t want to have their two best lifters in one weight class imo. That being said, from a fan perspective it would be very interesting to see the two battle it out and how far Liao can go with the numbers.
Bob says
Would Lu still complete even after Rio? He is over 30 now and most retire around his age I would think? Granted he is still in great shape.
Magneto says
He wants to continue as long as he enjoys the sport and is able to win.

I must be honest, that 207 put a little spark of a hope in me that he will get the 211 WR.

After his performance, Lv Xiaojun declined the interview. He said, “Don’t ask me any questions. All I can say is, today’s performance is all for my daughter. I’ve spent far too little time with her.”
