Marcel Guidea (2nd at Jr Worlds 94kg) Snatches 180kg and 170/2.
In July I reported that Marcel would switch from Moldova to Russia. So here are his first training videos from the Russian training hall in Chekhov.
The 19 year old will be eligible for the 2015 junior worlds.
Update 10.10.2014: 2 weeks later he Clean & Jerked 227kg.
(BTW, his C&J is also pretty good. See his 220 attempt here.)
Why did he switch to Russia?
As for reasons Marcel cited the the abysmal training conditions in Moldova. Something that has led other Moldovan top lifters (like Cristina Iovu) to leave the country as well.
In return for accepting a Russian passport he is granted a 3500 Euro / month stipend (compare that to $143 / month in Moldova). (via #1, #2)
