Meanwhile in Germany …
Here is Max Lang’s second Bundesliga competition of 2017 (watch the first one here).
Not only was it the league’s semi final, but it also acted as the qualifying event for European championships 2017!
Still power jerking, Max had to hit a 331kg total at 78.5kg or less to bank the ticket to Europeans.
The video has subtitles (press the “CC” button in the player). I also put the weights lifted in there.
Update: Also watch
He weighed in at 77.8kg. Earlier that day after breakfast when he weighed in at 79.3. So this meant in order to make the allowed 78.5kg limit he had to skip lunch (he ate like 3 macaronis total).
Even though it was another 6/6 performance for Max wasn’t happy with his technique. He said today he relied mostly on power. Keep in mind that it was only his 4th or 5th week training overhead stuff because of his inflamed shoulder joint.
Thanks to Markus from DasGewichtheben for the second camera angle!

How did Ritvars and Rebeka do?

What’s up with the 78.5kg limit?

It wouldn’t make sense to force athletes to diet down for this, when the main event is 4 weeks later.
