I saw this on FB with your “divebomb” description and I thought–wow can’t believe Boufia would do a 180 with his squat technique. 🙂
I’m glad to see him moving up; 120 kgs was too light a class for him in my opinion.
Actually he usually seems to go SHW for non-World meets then cuts just once a year. Makes sense, it’s not like anyone is going to beat him at SHW apart from Worlds anyway.
Yeah, I know that’s his general M.O.; realized it after I posted that he probably wasn’t moving up. Oh well. I’d love to see him go up in the 400 range on squats with Uepa and Williams.
Well, considering he would have taken the WR total if he had completed his 3rd deadlift, he’d certainly be competitive in the class.
