Here are 7 minutes with the North Korean men’s team in the Asian Championships training hall.
Snappy lifts throughout. Also check out those abbreviated Power Cleans in their complexes.
No Kim Myong Hyok in this one though. He trained in the afternoon.
Lifters: Jon Choe Wi, Sin Chol Bom,

the North Korean lifters are faster than chinese lifters, may be because they don’t use heavy deadlifts. Well, I was not there in the training hall, so please correct me if i am wrong about this.
Penn says
In all seriousness they might look faster because they’re, on average, the shortest. (Shorter than the Chinese lifters since, even if they’re well fed now, they probably grew up malnourished and their growth was stunted).

From Kirksman Teo (asianweightlifting on Instagram):
China relies more on strength and smoothness at sticking points so they use more weights for partial work. North Korea focus more on explosiveness to move past sticking points, so weights are lighter for partial work.
Jakes says
How do North Korean athletes interact with people/other lifters? Just curious, because of how messed up NK is maybe they aren’t allowed to……?
Gregor says
Language barrier is the biggest issue here (for most athletes).
But for example in the training hall they were sharing platforms with Chinese, because it was too crowded.
Victor says
Are you serious? People shared platforms?? That’s like people working in with each other at the gym. What did they do when they needed way different weights (for whatever reason from differing ability to different exercise)? They didn’t reload the bar at every swap, did they?
Gregor says
it was during squats, so it wasn’t that big of an issue
