Pat Mendes hits another milestone in comeback – 190kg Snatch!
Two days ago, on August 5th, he weighed in at 104.6kg (via).
In his latest / first blog post he listed his current comeback PRs:
And here he talks about the program template he tries to use.
His Goals for August: 192kg Snatch + 220kg Clean & Jerk.
I will do 192/220. I’m not making any predictions regarding what will happen with my squats. I’ll squat whatever it takes to lift 192/220.

Update 01.10.2014: Another 190kg Snatch
Leon says
Very strong, but does anyone know when he will compete again?
I would like to see him lift good stuff in competition.
T Bone says
would that get 3 white lights? Looks like he has a slight problem with the lockout in his left arm.
Victor says
That’s the least of what troubles Mendes in competition…
Leon says
And what are his troubles? I haven’t seen much footage of his competitions.

Victor says
Yes, the doping, and also that he can’t come close to his training weights in competition. His competition C&J is usually lower than his training snatch.
Victor says
And that’s when he was 105+ and didn’t have to lose weight to compete. If he drops like 30kg in each lift just from competition jitters (snatch training max 207, competition ~172-176), imagine what he’s gonna end up like when he has to lose weight too.
Andrew says
he is training at under 105kg in these videos
Pete says
Bravo pat looking real good..
chris says
pat mendes videos again…. this guy has had a very serious injury becouse of HGH use and he is back again on steroids in no time. He probably won’t even make 30 years old. And he never achieved anything in competition.
John says
Everyone roids & he’s done around 380 in comp when he was a shw.
Alfonso Rodriguez says
Did not even get a medal at the Pan Am games in Toronto, this guy is a bust in spite of all his claimed strength. He should stick to powerlifting. Always the same thing, first attempts only, 2 out of 6. He was a bust with the
USA and now a bust with Brazil.
