Pyrros Dimas 250kg Front Squat

August 10, 2015 By Gregor Winter

John Broz dug up this gem of Pyrros Dimas Front Squatting 250kg

Watching old VHS movies last night and found this 250kg (550) front squat (3x body weight) by 3x Olympic Champion Pyrros Dimas. He originally competed for Albania, his home country, but in 1991 (age 20) he moved to Greece where he had great success. From '92 to '04 he competed in the changing weight categories: 82,5; 83; and the current 85kg. Best lifts of 180,5 #snatch, 215 #cleanandjerk and 392,5 total. . . . #Olympic #champion #weightlifting #dimas #clean #worldrecord #frontsquat #squateveryday #squat #olylift

He had a very firm back. Of course the legs were strong too but that back…. man!

Severe let down, not rump to ankles. I heard Stoichkov did rump to ankles with 255 at 75kg and his legs were almost skinny compared to this view of Dimas. But didn’t some sources allege Dimas did 280kgs?
