Update 16.11.2013: Comparison of Ruslan’s 197kg & 209kg Snatch

The +105kg category at the 2013 Worlds featured some outstanding performances by Russia and Iran.

  • 21 year old Bahador Moulaei snatched 203kg (see all his lifts here)
  • Rusla Albegov went 197, 205, 209kg
  • Alexey Lovchev went 191, 196, 200kg

In the Clean & Jerk Ruslan made 242, x255 and 255kg on his third.

He was really pushed by Bahador who made 241, 255, x261 (cleaned it!).

Ruslan’s 464kg total equals that of Behdad Salimi in the 2011 Worlds.

Here is the 209kg in Slow Motion. For recordings of all the sessions check out the 2013 Worlds page on ATG.

Update 10.11.2013: Slow motion video from a different angle.

Nice to see another tight battle between the russian and iranian supers

Bahador is the future of SHW. He’ll break the C&J world record, most likely next year.

Maybe so. Don’t forget Lapikov, though. As soon as he gets off suspension, the snatch WR may be in danger. His training 215 was effortless.

His ban ended 13.05.2013. I think he took time off (or was injured) after the London prep.

Ruslan still has a large potential. I think 215 snatch and 260 c&j are the results he’ll come up with in next 1-2 years. It’s hard to discuss Moulaei’s perspectives just because iranians are tend to disappear after couple of years on high level.

yeah, thats why rezazadeh won olympics twice and 4 world championships

Rezazadeh is the exception, that only confirms the rules. Remember Tavakoli, Bagheri, Falahatinejad, Alihosseini? Bahador lifted around 415-420 kg previous year. Don’t think that 40 kg progress in one year will not affect ruinously on young organism’s health. Superman exists only in Hollywood.

Tavakoli and Bagheri got injured and didn’t recover after the surgery, Falahatinejad wasn’t a big deal from the first day, just had a lucky day in Vancouver. and everybody knows Alihosseini’s story. they didn’t “disappear ”
Molaei always had great numbers in training but never repeated them in competition until yesterday.

Every single word of your post actually confirms all, that I wrote above))

I don’t see any reason why Moulaei would dissapear. The only reason Salimi isn’t still competing is his disputes with the coach.

oh my God, this kid from Iran is very very strong, he will break rezazadeh record in c&J some day I think

In slow motion you really get to see his flawless technique (especially that jerk). However, I was really REALLY impressed with Bahador’s 261kgs…I was so gutted when he lost the jerk like that (it looked like he had it)

I believe ruslan can break both world records on a good day, in the russian 2012 championschip he made and effortless 210 snatch, maybe the c&j record could be harder but i think he can at least clean it. His jerks always look so hard but rarely miss it
