Ruslan Nurudinov 239kg Clean & Jerk Almaty 2014 World Championships

November 25, 2014 By Gregor Winter

After Ilya’s 242kg and David’s 240kg, here now is the 3rd World Record from the 105kg session at world championchips.

Ruslan Nurudinov’s 239kg Clean & Jerk.

Update: His 193kg Snatch here.

(Video also on Facebook and @atginsta)

He had a flawless 6 out of 6 performance and is also a strong contender for the “Best Celebration” as well as “Best Tongue Show” award.

He went 185, 190, 193 and 220, 230, 239. Which is a 7kg increase to his Total at last year’s worlds.

In the Press conference he mentioned that he was shocked at how well he performed. After his injury (had knee surgery in August) he never went past 215kg in training

Trivia: With his 7 medals, Ruslan is now the most decorated Uzbek at World Championships in any Olympic sport. What’s more? He is only just turned 23, so he has a bright future ahead of him.

Obv Ilya is The Man, but Ruslan moves so gracefully it is beautiful to watch.

Well considering the performances of Ilya and Ruslan on this years worlds, i don’t find it impossible that Ruslan may take over Ilya’s place as ”The Man”

105s have a ton of good lifters. Stole the show this year and two good lifters (aramnauv/akkaev) didn’t even show.

          >Akkaev
Do people not realize he’s never coming back?
Absolutely wrecked his back and fell out of favor with the coaching team. Pretty much zero chance of him reappearing on the worlds stage

no I didn’t realize that. I did see a video of him jerking 200kg from behind the neck after his back surgery so I figured there was s till a chance. Aramnauv also seems to be down on his luck too.

According to his latest interview he wants to try to come back. So I would not say there are _zero_ chances of him returning.

I don’t know how badly he got injured and how is he healing but the fell out of favor part is a serious thing and many fans don’t realize that at all. They think it’s like the great star shows up anytime and gets accepted back because he is so strong. Well ,not in Russia. I don’t say he’s not gonna come back but he has to mend that relationship with Venkov.

Well if Akkaev will ever show is probably not going to happen, very sad

Possibly, but Ilya just upped his weight class and only started training at the beginning of the year. Give him some time to fully acclimate to being a 105 and we’ll see what he can really do.

          Indeed

Ruslan and Ulugbek Alimov are definitely underrated – these guys are badasses and recently putting on clinics on how to make lifts on the world stage.

When he said he never went past 215 in training did he mean just clean and jerk or squats too?
