Meanwhile in Korea …
After the comeback from his elbow injury and his participation in the 2013 nationals (still 77 then), here is another update from Sa jae Hyouk.
At the 2014 Korean nationals in June he went 166 + 202 at 85kg.
He attempted 213kg (212 is the Korean 85kg Record), but only cleaned it.
Currently he aims for the 2014 Asian Games (September 19 – October 4, 2014,). A Korean weightlifting official said that by then he can increase his total by another 26kg.
Also check out his 211kg Clean & Jerk at 77kg.
Update: here is a 213 kg Clean he did in training.
Here he hits 160kg, 163kg and 165kg Snatches
Update: and then there was this short video, showing the Korean doing some technique work.

Great to see him back after that horrible injury. Definitely think he has a shot at the 85 C+J record considering he nearly did 212 as a 77 in 2009. Excited to see how he gets on!

His 212 at 77 in Goyang was heartbreak, he nearly had it. Glad to see him in 85 now, going back to 77 may cause injury for him.

Wait, 166+202=368. If the “Korean weightlifting official” says Sa will improve by 26kg by the Asian games, that’s 394kg. They plan to match the world record in his first competition after injury plus a weight-class change? Is that realistic?
