Today was the final day in Almaty at the IPC Asian Open Championships where a huge amount of World Records plus many Asian and Junior Records were broken.
The highlight of the competition was Siamand Rahman’s (IRI, +M107kg) massive 295kg Bench Press on his 3rd attempt, adding another 2kg onto his record he broke just minutes before. Competition results are listed here.

Man, Siamand is an absolute favorite of mine! I remember the first time i saw him bench, it was his 301 attempt in London. It actually brought a tear to my eye to see him do that, such and awesome man. And huge respect to every single athlete who keeps fighting despite having issues like Siamand or other. They are such massive inspirations i think, the will that they have to fight for the sport they love despite anything! Epic!!!
