Any other time and he would have been the best lifter around, but with Naim Suleymanaglu around he had no chance!

  Yurik Sarkisyan won this competition. He was the top guy in the 60kg class, Topurov, though remarkably strong, couldn’t beat him in the total. Naim was still a weight class below, he would beat Sarkisyan by 15 kilos 2 years later.
