This is the first of the 3 or 4 part training camp series with team Germany and team Japan.
This was made possible by ATG Patrons.
Update: Here is part two!
Originally I didn’t even plan to post this session, as it was just a (for the most part) light morning session.
I used this session to figure out lighting, take some photos and check angles for the more important afternoon session, which will feature Japan’s two 69kg lifters, Mitsunori Konnai, Masanori Miyamoto (69kg) in part 2 (ATG Patrons will get to watch it first).
However, because the footage is still pretty good I decided to make it into a little edit, showcasing the different exercises used.
The Germans started off their customary football warm up to get the blood flowing, followed by squats and pulls, bench pulls and accessory work.
Team Japan opted for table tennis instead of football. Some front squats, push presses super light snatch technique work (see the slowmo looking 60kg snatches by Myiamoto) and ab work.
PS: you can get team Japan’s massage device (Thrive MD 7000) for just 10 bucks here.
Exercises:
- Mobility Stuff by Max
- Snatch Pulls
- Snatch Balance
- Front Squat
- Hang Snatch Pull
- Weighted Dips
- Back Squat
- Bench Pulls / Seal Rows? (Bankziehen)
- Ab Exercises: Sit Ups, Static work

as always, thx a lot.
i’m wondering, watching this one and some others, why some weightlifters can achieve 10-15 kg more than others (let’s put doping aside) :
in the 69 kg only 2 at rio could do 160+ @ snatch. since it’s more demanding technically my guess is Shi Zhiyong and Daniar Ismayilov have better technique, would you agree ?
