Does this mean he’s done 226-229 before successfully? I know he’s done 225. It’s not normal to take 5kg jumps in PR at that level.

Yuri Vardanian cleaned 230kg in competition and narrowly missed the jerk, straight after setting a new C&J WR of 224kg in the then 82.5kg class, when totalling a WR 405kg some 30 years ago.
Remains the only lifter in history to have totalled more at the Olympics than the Gold Medalists in two weight classes(90kg &100kg) above him. Such was his dominance in the 1980 Olympics, he would have won bronze in the 110kg Class, where only the Gold Medalist C&J more. In the superheavy Class, the silver medalist only totalled 10kg more than Yuri, despite weighing over 52kg/8st more.
