He did those 2 days out from competition at the end of his training, doing sets with 70, 110, and 130kg.

Heh heh… Reminds me of the time a noted American Weightlifting “authority” explained to me that elite Weightlifters never used dead lifts (Or their variations other than Romanian deadlifts.) except as a beginner… Yet here we are…
But these are what would be called Romanian deadlifts. Lifters don’t deadlift for numbers (high hips, sunken shoulders, etc etc) they do clean pulls. In fact this exact movement done by nicu vlad is what gave these pulls the name Romanian deadlifts.
Which “authority” was this?
