Here is an USA Weightlifting instructional video that goes over the basics.
The narrator reminds me of those old instructional videos.
Update:
Did they forget the snatch? What about the jerk?
Is this the reason why the US isn’t on top of their game? Teaching the jump & shrug.

Got a copy of this when I got my USAW and honestly found it pretty worthless and very dated and, as you point out, shockingly incomplete on some very key aspects of weightlifting . . . like, the lifts.

This was one of three videos for my (ancient) Level 1 certificate. The others covered the snatch and related exercises, as well as the jerk. On another note, to equate a single video with the lack of success experienced by USA weightlifting is illogical.

Did you really think I was serious there?
Sarcasm, do they teach it in the US? 😉

It is not illogical when most “top” U.S. coaches continue to teach the lifts in this way which has proven to be outdated. I lernred from the former head coach of S. Korea. He has produced Olympic and world Champions. I have tranlsted texts from Russian, Korean and German that state the International community abandoned the jump ans shrug triple extension technique over 30 years ago. The technique progressions are not comprehensive nor do they adreess development for age differences etc, and not nearly enough on flexibility mobility. Consider Zygmunt Smalcerz Kerk progression has 18 steps. thn look at this. This is straight formt he USAW. Its crap.
