Viktor Getts 2015 Europeans Training Hall

May 6, 2015 By Gregor Winter

Here are 4 minutes in the 2015 Europeans training hall with Viktor Getts (77kg, Russia).

This was filmed about 12pm the day before his competition. So instead of super heavy weights (which you won’t see Russian lifters do in the training hall anyway) you see a light session with very crisp movements from the 21 year old.

In competition he finished with 160+191 tying Tigran Martirosyan’s results, who was 500g lighter than Viktor.

I still don’t quite understand that 198 or seven? last cnj at the Europeans. Surely even 194 would have been enough to beat Martirosyan because he clearly wasn’t at his best…

I think the Russian coaches expected Tigran to come out for 195 and his poker face must have convinced them that he was confident in getting it!
