Meanwhile in China …
Update: False Alert! Turns out this is Zhang Wanqiong (53kg). She totaled 231kg with 102 + 129 at the Chinese nationals. No wonder that 123 looked like a toy. Thanks to the ATG error correction system aka Victor 🙂
2013 World Champion Tan Yayun (48kg) Clean & Jerks 123kg in training.
This is 2 kg above Nurcan Taylan’s World Record, which she also equaled at last year’s Chinese National Games.

That clean recovery looked WAY too easy
Victor says
Dude, I think this is 53kg lifter Zhang Wanqiong. That’s why it looked so easy.
Gregor says
You are right. It looks more like Zhang
Victor says
Yeah, a little, but I’m fairly certain that’s Zhang. I’m Chinese; if I didn’t get this right, I’d be mixing up my family members LOL.
Gregor says
Haha yeah. After watching more vids of Zhang I think you are right. Going to change the post and title now.
Victor says
If people can’t tell, they may as well send Zhang to lift in Tan’s stead after Tan clears the weigh-in LOLOL
Nan yoniamous says
Kudos.
wlift84 says
Coach Ma is of course also Chinese which makes this weird.
Ma Strength says
Hey Victor, I looked at the video more closely and the others from that day and you are right, it is Zhang Wanqiong (53kg). I apologize to everyone for the mistake and have made the correction on the Ma Strength Facebook and Youtube pages. Thanks for pointing out the error.
Victor says
No prob, bruh. Tell Miss Zhang I think she’s very pretty 😉
Ma Strength says
Will do 🙂
Drew Cee says
The Ma Strength FB Page posted this as Tan Yayun, so now I’m really confused…
wlift84 says
To be fair, the CHN record is 126 so it’s not impossible.
They look rather similar, particularly due to the bangs+ponytail hair. Tan Yayun has a bigger nose, that’s identifiable for me. 😀
