Kang Yue Interview::
I was very unhappy with my performance today. My stability needs much improvement.
Both attempts at 132 felt light and comfortable, by my shoulder came out of lock and lost it behind.
My strength is back to normal, but the leg injury I had during the Worlds has left some (possibly psychological) impact on me and despite cleaning 161 easily twice, I am unable to fully put my effort into the jerk, resulting in the barbell often being too forward.
I must work on my stability and consistency.

48kg Full Recording
Ericson Jericho D. Pacaba says
Aww man. Hoping that Tan Yayun was gonna win.
Afferbeck says
Why are the men’s and the women’s competitions not held at the same time?
Victor says
So we have more competitions to look forward to LOL
Victor says
Wow! 5 people who snatched over 90 and 5 people who clean and jerked over 110! China’s -48 was getting pretty weak for a while; I believe nobody snatched over 90 in the last year or maybe even 2. This year’s just crazy!
wlift84 says
Totals are pretty consistent in the last two years, not gonna paste them all :O. Jiang won the snatch last year as well with 91.
But why is Tian Yuan still injured. 🙁 Wanted to see the C&J WR finally broken this year. Boo.
Victor says
Really? I keep seeing Tan Yayun win with some snatch in the 80s; it was kinda depressing compared to before where every nationals had some 95kg+ snatches and WR-beating C&J from the likes of Wang Mingjuan, Yang Lian, Tian Yuan.
wlift84 says
Well the biggest total recently-ish was Tan with 93/121/214 from the 2013 NG. She did less in the Nationals and internationally, so that impression is still valid I guess. But overall the 48 totals are pretty stable recently, some above and some below 200. Doesn’t really matter if 89 or 91 snatch if the total doesn’t move.
But ok true, with Wang and Yang retired and Tian injured there are less truly monster totals to marvel at.
wlift84 says
Speaking of Wang Mingjuan, she snatched unbelievable 97kg at 16 years at the 2001 National Games according to the Chinese Junior records. WTF!?
wlift84 says
Li Ping is back! Would like to know her bw, if she’s perhaps an overweight 53 here.
Li Xueying on the other hand MIA. :/
Victor says
She weighed 56.02 KG.
wlift84 says
Thanks, didn’t look full 58! Was this from the commentary or did I miss a screen?
Victor says
Commentary
wlift84 says
Deng Mengrong’s elbows don’t look good. :C
Also some badass female squat jerking (unfortunately unsuccessful) by Li Chun (58kg) at 1:27:50 and 1:32:00.
wlift84 says
I wouldn’t have thought someone could match Liu Chunhong’s seemingly unbeatable records in a decade or two, but here we are. Just give Xiang Xanmei the Rio gold already, she’s ahead by 20kg now to everyone else from Asia or Europe.
155 C&J didn’t even look like a max today! This total is insane. *throws in the towel*
Victor says
Ryo Unhui is probably not feeling too hot right now. Also, incredibly, there was not 1 but 2 women who clean and jerked 150 or more!
wlift84 says
Look up Xie’s 154 from the 2013 NG (if you’re not familiar with it). She always throws herself under big weights in the second half.
Xiang should arguably be Olympic champion already. Lifted 271 in the 2012 trials, 10kg more than Rim/PRK won with…
Victor says
-58kg Shen Yingying at 21 years old is one wickedly leggy chick with a pretty face to match! 104:35 in the video, she goes 95, 97X, 97X in the snatch, 115, 120X, 120X in the clean and jerk. I’d be happier than a bug in a rug to go out with her!
wlift84 says
Is it Shen Yingying or Shen Yinyi (google)?
Victor says
You could be right.
grobpote says
Xiang Yanmei. It wasn’t enough that she snatched 129 but she adjusted her hair out of sight during her 155 cnj 😀 😀
Victor says
I was also amazed by that. Just to be clear, people, she didn’t adjust her hair in between the clean and jerk where she’s standing with the weight; she flicked her head to adjust her hair while in the hole during the clean!
Afferbeck says
Holy crap, I didn’t think we’d see anyone get close to Kashirina’s numbers! I thought they would have all just given up after her utterly annihilating performance at 2014 Worlds. Awesome to see Meng continue to increase her clean and jerk, and with that crazy slow pull. Not sure why her snatch isn’t higher, I’ve seen her do easy hang doubles with 130 in one of Larry’s videos over a year ago. Her 140 here was effortless in terms of strength but still took some work to stabilise. It’s interesting that other women in the session snatched close to her but are nowhere near in the clean and jerk.
wlift84 says
Thankfully we got longer/full videos, unlike the men’s. With Kang Yue at 75 as I see it 125/155 were her openers only. Based on the footage though she shouldn’t have gotten the C&J as it was a pressout on the right arm. 132 were attempts for the CHN record.
For the +75s I also think it’s impressive how Meng still improves. We know her since the WWCs 2009/2010 which seems ages ago and yet she upped her total by around 25-30kg since then basically (I think she could’ve done more in Almaty, like 185 easily).
Minor note, in the +75s we also see Peng Lina (彭黎娜) who did 105/142/247, she’s just 15 here, born 1999-05-19. Perhaps we’ll see more of her in the future as well. I wish they held a shot on the scoreboard in every category, pretty sure there are some interesting youth lifters buried…
TheTurk says
What happend in 1:15:24? She did 142-145 kgs before, then came up for 191 kg clean and jerk. You know why?
wlift84 says
That’s Li Miao and she’s a teammate of Meng Suping (both from Anhui). She had no chance of improving her placing since there was a large gap to 5th. Hence the coaches used her third attempt to gain some more resting time for Meng. They did it twice with 185 and 191, so she had more time between each attempt.

Gregor says
Oh man that sucks that her injury still affects her.
grobpote says
She would really deserve to win something big now.
Victor says
She might get Klokoved again if Zubova comes back in form LOL
grobpote says
I’m afraid she will. Zubova is a wonderful lifter 🙂
Anton Mårtensson says
+75 and no Zhou Lulu? Where is she?
wlift84 says
She had surgery for appendicitis a few months back. No details yet when she’ll return.
Святослав says
Where is Zhou Lulu ????????????????????? WHY She (Zhou Lulu) was absent on Chinese Championship ?????
Victor says
Out recovering from appendicitis surgery; this was known from the test of strength event.
wlift84 says
Found protocols (well photographs) of all the women’s classes. Victor, if you feel like transcribing some blurry Chinese names for stats nerds like me and Polska Stanga feel free to volunteer. 🙂
Something scary: there’s a 53kg Chinese girl born in 2000 who totaled equal to the European 1st place, and she placed 13th here.
Gregor says
You forgot the link.
Also, that 53kg girl sounds crazy.
wlift84 says
But it’s my secret!!1

Work in progress, hopefully it’s public. This is mainly for PS.pl world rankings. Plenty of Chinese characters/names need deciphering. 🙂
Victor says
Unfortunately, I’m not so hot on my characters. I can listen and speak but cus I grew up in the US, my reading’s kinda shit 🙁
