Until recently that was a name that I had not been familiar with. But after he showed up in Ilya’s videos and posted his 190 +230 in training it was clear that he is one to be reckoned with.
In what until then was the most exciting session at the 2014 worlds the 22 year old went 175, 179, x182 in the Snatch and then took over the arena with 215, 221, 229kg in the Clean & Jerk. This lift gave him lead over his teammate Vladimir Sedov who was 9kg ahead of him after his 188kg Snatch.

anyone else noticed the clean technique of kazakhstan lifters (Zhassulan Kydyrbaev and also Ilya)? at end for 1st pull their legs are fully extended and then right before the 2nd pull they rebend their knees to get into the powerposition.
